Outdoor Activities

Delki Dozzi

Delki Dozzi has a beautiful community garden. The mission of the Delki Dozzi Community Garden is to engage residents of all ages and abilities in learning about productive and innovative gardening practices. “Our garden produces food for neighbourhood families in need, and for the benefit of our volunteers without whom the garden would not continue to exist.  Excess food is donated to the Best Start Hub.”

During the summer months, there’s a super well-maintained cycling track. During the winter months, you can take a walk or jog the slow plowed track.

Recreation

Gatchell public pool 

The Gatchell pool offers a variety of swim options. They have group, private or semi-private swimming lessons. They also have drop-in options for public and family swims. 

Dynamic Earth 

Dynamic Earth is a seasonal Sudbury attraction. “Complete with a guided underground tour, multimedia theaters, engaging exhibits, and an outdoor science park, this iconic space entertains visitors of all ages in an interactive and educational setting.” Dynamic Earth has the Big Nickel which was built in 1964. It’s an exact replica of the 1951 Canadian Nickel. It is the largest coin in the world.

The West End/Gatchell/Little Britain Area offers a lot of great restaurants and shops, here are a few of them:

Gus’

Gus’ restaurant is a Sudbury staple which has been open since 1952. Ten and a half years ago, the current owners sold their café in Athens, Greece to head to Sudbury to take over Gus’ restaurant. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything is made from scratch, the best in Canadian and Greek food.  

Regency flowers 

Regency Flowers is a local shop that offers beautiful fresh flower arrangements. They offered daily deliveries locally and worldwide. They offer bouquet, arrangements, and on-site decorating for weddings and events.  

Sudbury music academy 

The Sudbury music academy offers lessons in: guitar, voice, piano, drums and bass all in one place. These lessons are offered to children aged between five years old and up. 

We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical. All of the teachers have either University / College training, years of professional performance experience or both. They have fully equipped lesson rooms. They are conveniently located in the heart of sudbury. 

Schools

The West End/Gatchell/Little Britain area of Sudbury offers five different English schools. The schools provide public and private education to children, ages preschool to grade 8.
